Welcome to the Postgraduate

The FACULTY OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING offers postgraduate studies in the broad areas of electrical engineering. These cover the fields of electronics & computer engineering, telecommunications, mechatronics and robotics, control engineering, and electrical power engineering. Besides meeting the requirements of advanced academic study, these postgraduate programmes are also structured to meet the demands of industry in the country. The programmes provide the graduate student with state-of-the-art knowledge and technology necessary for quality research work, and prepare the student with relevant advanced know-how for today’s electrical engineering profession. The supervision of graduate research is the responsibility of the “graduate faculty”, which currently consists of 84 professors, associate professors and lecturers with PhDs (as of April 2008). These full-time academicians provide extensive research competence and engineering expertise are also responsible for delivering lectures at the postgraduate level. This staff strength, coupled with the availability of the latest equipment and facilities in the Faculty research laboratories, should ensure graduate supervision is always of high standard and all graduate research carried out are completed successfully. Researches are funded by grants from the government and industry. Financial aid and fellowships are available for graduate students.
